G singing in the car on the way to Grammy's- I've got to find where I belong... so I can see Elmo, the cat, and Jesus. 'Cause He's my best friend.
(to the tune of a song from Disney's Hercules)

G still in the car-Once upon a time I was borned (born)- you know- like a baby.

G was sure on a roll. She likes to sing- a lot!! And she likes to make up new songs, or rather mash a bunch of songs together. It is lots of fun to listen to. She is pretty entertaining.

D-Mom, how many days till my birthday?
K- how many days till the 4th of July
Me- PLEASE go look at the calendar!!!!!!

G @ the water park- Mom, I wanna go on the hula-hoop ride!!
Me- which one is that?
G (pointing the the biggest, tallest, scariest raft ride with a look of sheer longing)- THAT ONE!!
Me- I'm sorry sweetie, you are not big enough for that one yet.
G- But I am a big girl. I wanna go on the hula-hoop ride (sobbing by the end)
Me picking her up to give her a big hug- I'm sorry!

*So I'm guessing that she thought the rafts looked like hula-hoops....but where did she learn what a hula-hoop looks like??*

Me- (whispering) OH NO!!! Don't move!!!
T- (looking down at his lap) BYE!!!!

We were sitting in Sharing time listening to the great message when I happened to turn around and look at T who was holding M on his lap. Just as I looked she blew out her diaper- BIG TIME!!!! I saw it gush out the sides onto her blanket, but it also went up her back- all over his nice white shirt and slacks. He picked her up and went straight out to the car and they went home to change. He made it back just in time for the closing prayer in class. Good thing I was already planning on teaching!!!  :D

No quote today....but, I taught K how to braid yesterday. When we were at the store with Grammy tonight K convinced her to buy a skein on yarn so that she could make braided friendship bracelets for friends. She has been at it for an hour and is having lots of  fun. I just wish I could remember some fancy knots to teach her.

T had just gotten home from work last night and was in wind-down mode. I pulled out the box of doughnuts I had bought off the day old rack at our local grocery store (they are hand made fresh in the store every day and are DELISH!!) and offered them to him.

Me- Look what I found. I thought you might like a treat tonight. There is chocolate milk in the fridge too!!
T- Ummm.....Thanks! But I'm kinda on a diet....Sorry.
Me- Oh....... (stunned silence- while putting the box back in the pantry)

Guess who'll be eating all the doughnuts.....Me, the one who SHOULD be on a diet!

Why?

This blog is an attempt to do better at recording all those funny things my kids and husband say. I hope that I can keep up with all these silly people. With an intelligent 8 year old, a precocious almost 7 year old, 3 year old twins and a sometimes sleep deprived husband...things get pretty interesting around here!
Wish me luck! :D
